Volvo to complete purchase of Nissan diesel

When the acceptance period for Volvo’s offer for Nissan Diesel expired on March 23rd, Volvo had received a total of roughly 96% of the shares outstanding. Since Volvo has received more than two thirds of the shares in Nissan Diesel, a process is now being initiated to redeem the remaining shares outstanding. Since Nissan Diesel will not be releasing its year-end report for 2006 until May 11th, Volvo has decided to postpone its first quarter interim report until the same date – May 11th 2007. A jury of some 100 international creativity and marketing experts has made its choice: the Volkswagen Magazine has been awarded the coveted Mercury Award 2006 in silver.

Fit for Debate, Fit for Rebate

Honda’s Canadian subsidiary is facing an interesting choice: fuel economy at the expense of safety.  New federal regulations recently passed in Canada award a $1000 rebate for cars that fall below a fuel consumption threshold, set at 6.5 liters per 100 kilometers in that wacky metric system. Chrysler Announces Pricing on All-New 2008 Chrysler Sebring Convertible

Chrysler is raising the roof on the convertible segment, introducing the all-new 2008 Chrysler Sebring Convertible. With a starting U.S. Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price of $26,145 (including $675 destination), the Chrysler Sebring Convertible is priced $645 below the comparable outgoing model with $2,965 more content, including standard side seat-mounted air bags for head and thorax protection, four-wheel disc anti-lock brakes, tire-pressure monitoring system, automatic latching convertible top, standard hard tonneau cover, AM/FM stereo with six- disc CD player, six-way power driver and passenger seats and a tilt/telescoping steering wheel.
