The Buick GNX is iconic — one of the great modern GM performance cars. The ultimate Grand National, it was limited to 547 units and received a host of changes at the hands of ASC McLaren over the “regular” car. These included substantial upgrades underhood, most notably to the turbocharger and intercooler, and when it bowed, the GNX was advertised as having 275 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque. Another set of numbers, namely the car’s sub-5-second 0-60 time, was evidence that the factory power rating was clearly on the low side. Chrysler workers making long shot bid to buy automaker
The Detroit News is reporting that a group of 25 Chrysler employees in Toledo have formed a group called the “Employee Buyout Committee” and are actively exploring the necessary steps required to see the fate of Chrysler end up in the hands of its employees. Shanghai Auto Show: Buick Riviera Concept officially unveiled
GM publicly pulled the wraps off its Riviera concept car in Shanghai, releasing an avalanche of photos, sketches, and renderings, as well. The Riv was designed at the General’s China-based Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC), and according to design honcho Ed Welburn, it is a rolling showcase of design themes that we should be seeing on the next generation of midsized Buick sedans. Shanghai Motor Show Preview: Buick Riviera Concept
Autoblog Chinese has the early word on Buick’s Shanghai Motor Show concept, and it’s got another familiar name attached to it: Riviera. Better still, it’s a coupe — no Dodge Charger-style door growth here. The Riviera is being called a “global” concept that showcases Buick’s future design DNA.
