Mitsubishi Motors will unveil its renewed 4×4 line-up today at the 2006 Paris Motor Show with the European debut of the all-new Outlander SUV and revised Shogun.
Outlander will be launched during the first quarter of 2007, allowing Mitsubishi Motors to enter the fastest growing SUV segment in Europe – up 54% from 325,000 in 2001 to 500,000 in 2006, with a further 35% growth expected between 2006 and 2009 – and will go head to head, for the first time, with the likes of Toyota RAV-4 and Nissan X-Trail.
Outlander will also preview MMC’s all-new global C-segment platform. Engineered by MMC for world markets and shared with DaimlerChrysler, it will also form the basis of a string of new models in various segments of the market, to be launched within the next two years.
