Renowned photographer Michael Muller just dumped a brand new Mercedes Benz GL450 into a swimming pool. And then he sent actress Eva Mendes in after it. In a dress. Now lest you think Michael a heel, understand that Eva was all for it. In fact, she seemed to quite enjoy it. You see, it was all done in the name of art. And it was done for a worthwhile charity to boot.
As part of his art project entitled “Quiet,” Michael took photographs of twenty-four other underwater scenarios as well. All of these photos “aim to portray the silence and stillness one experiences when underwater.” The “Quiet” exhibit was done in part to raise money for The Art of Elysium in Universal City, California. The mission statement of which explains that it is a non-profit organization founded in 1997, which encourages working actors, artists and musicians to voluntarily dedicate their time and talent to children who are battling serious medical conditions. They provide artistic workshops in acting, art, comedy, fashion, music, radio, songwriting and writing.
All of the proceeds from the sale of the 25 “Quiet” pieces will go to support this non-profit organization. You can always explain to your better half that it was all for a good cause. [eMercedesBenz]
