Mercedes-Benz injects more Sport into CLK

Want the more aggressive looks of an AMG without the extra power and huge jump in price? That’s what the Sport Editions have traditionally been all about. Popping up on models that need a little something extra to create a bit of a stir in sales, they typically feature bodywork changes as well as upgraded wheel/tire/brake packs. The CLK is the latest model in the Mercedes-Benz range to get its own Sport Edition.

Available on CLK coupes and cabriolets in Europe, the package includes new front and rear fascias with more aggressive openings and lower lips, side skirts, bi-xenon headlamps, a chrome-plated exhaust tip with a unique muffler, and an AMG sports steering wheel inside. It also comes with 18-inch, split six-spoke light-alloy wheels and special brake callipers with “Mercedes-Benz” written on them in silver. Besides the revised exhaust, the only performance change is that the 7G-TRONIC seven-speed automatic transmission gets 30 percent quicker gearshifts. Price of the Sport Edition package is 3,332 Euros. The CLK Sport should be available by the time you read this. Check out the press release after the jump and a few larger photos in our gallery.
